Saint Parade & All-School Mass

October 31st at 9:00 a.m. (Eve of All Saints Day)

All parents are invited to attend the All School Mass on October 31st . The First Grade Class at St. Vincent de Paul School will represent their favorite Saint on this Eve of All Saints Day. They will wear “Saintly”costumes and parade into St. Vincent’s Church at the all School mass held at 9:00 a.m. The first graders have been practicing with their eighth grade buddies, learning their scripts and overcoming the fear of speaking in front of a large group of people. Each eighth grader will stand with their first grade partner at the altar podium while the younger student recites the important information they learned about their saint.

Mrs. Pence, the St. Vincent’s first grade teacher, and Ms. Ferree, the eighth grade teacher, are proud of the 1st/8th mentoring program. All first graders are paired with an eighth grade mentor and throughout the year these students work together on various tasks and celebrations. For the Saint Parade, the eighth graders have been practicing with the first graders for their public speaking debut. Their goals were to encourage the young students to learn important information about the saints, be free from fear as they parade into the church, and to speak loudly and slowly at the podium.
