School Wide Family Day of Service
Have you ever wanted to volunteer together with your family but you weren't sure where to
go? Now is your opportunity! Join the St. Vincent's School community for a day of volunteering
at the Utah Food Bank (3150 South 900 West) on Saturday, January 21. Parents and students
will work side-by-side at the Food Bank warehouse sorting and packing food for those in our city
who struggle to feed their families.
There will be three shifts available that day:
SHIFT 1: SHIFTS STILL AVAILABLE
8:00-10:00 AM for students age 12 and over and their families (space available for 50
people)
SHIFT 2: SHIFT IS FULL
10:00 AM-12:00 PM for students age 12 and over and their families (space available for
20 people)
SHIFT 3: SHIFT IS FULL
12:00-1:30 PM for students age 5 and over and their families (space available for 25
people)
To sign you and your family up for a shift, email Monica Howa-Johnson at mhowajohnson@stvincents-school.org. Families will be signed up on a first-come, first-served
basis, so email quickly before the shift you want fills up. This will count for Middle School Helping Hands hours for 3rd Quarter.
If the shift you want is already full, there will be other volunteer opportunities for students of all
ages and their families at the school that day, between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
Join the St. Vincent's community in serving our community at large while modeling service to
your children!
"It is our duty to prefer service to the poor to everything else
and to offer such service as quickly
as possible." –St. Vincent de Paul |
