Mark received his B.A. in Geography and German from Cal State Fullerton. He has a Masters in Catholic School Administration from University of San Francisco. He taught middle school for eight years and was Vice Principal for three years at St. Vincent’s before becoming Principal. He has been St. Vincent’s principal for 10 years, is married and has two children attending St. Vincent’s school and 1 son at Judge Memorial Catholic High School. Mark enjoys traveling, reading and playing raquetball.
Monsignor Mannion
Monsignor Mannion was born in Ireland and has been a priest for 35 years. In 1992 he became a Monsignor. He has been the pastor at St. Vincent’s Parish since 2003.
Vice Principal: Gary Green
ggreen@stvincents-school.org This will be Gary’s second year as vice principal. Gary has been a 5th grade teacher for the past 12 years at various Catholic Schools in Utah. Gary was a graduate of Cosgriff and Judge Memorial High School. He received his degree from the University of Utah in Political Science and received his Masters in teaching from the University of Portland. Gary is married and has a two sons. He loves being a dad as well as running with his dogs and singing.

Carol graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a B.A. in Economics. Most of her career has been in corporate finance although she worked for a non profit for 8 years in finance and development. This is her 8th year as the Development Director for our school. She has a son at Juan Diego Catholic High School and a daughter who attends the University of Washington. She enjoys movies, going on vacations and eating out.

This is Rosemary’s 15th year as our school secretary. She is very kind and compassionate and knows everything there is to know about our school. She helps Mr. Longe with various tasks, answers any questions students and parents have and oversees all office procedures. She is married and has 4 children and 6 grandchildren, six of whom attend St. Vincent.
PreK (4 Yr olds) Teacher: Carol Sanderson
csanderson@stvincents-school.org This will be Carol‘s 7th year working at St. Vincent’s, this being her 2nd year as our full time PreK Teacher. For 5 years prior, Carol job shared this position. Carol graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a Masters of Arts in Developmental Psychology. Carol loves preparing the preschoolers for school especially in a fun and loving environment.
PreK (4 year olds) Aide: Jamey Rawlings
This is Jamey’s 2nd year as our Pre K aide. Jamey is married and has a son starting PreK this year and is expecting a baby this Winter. Jamey worked in our daycare for 5 years prior to working in the PreK. She enjoys working with children.
Kindergarten: Mary Williams

Mary Williams received her B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Utah. She has taught for 26 years. After teaching in Granite District for 13 years, she took three years off to be a “Stay at Home Mom”. She has been married to her husband, Galen, for 32 years. They have 2 daughters, Kirstin who will be a freshman at the University of Utah and Jennifer who graduated from the University of Utah last year. Mary resumed teaching at St. Vincent’s 14 years ago as librarian and this is her 10th year as our kindergarten teacher. She is originally from Spokane, WA. Her creative style encourages her students to love school. Watch for the annual “Kindergarten Opera” this Spring.
Kindergarten Aide: Amy Johnson
This will be Amy’s 3rd years as one of our kindergarten aides. She and her husband, Gary, have been married for 13 years, and have two children. MJ will be in 3rd grade and her daughter, Brooke will be in Pre K. For the past 19 years, May has been involved as a volunteer for the Festival of Trees which raises money for Primary Children’s Hospital. Amy enjoys camping and fishing with her family. Teaching at St. Vincent’s has fulfilled a lifelong dream of hers.
Kindergarten Aide: Katie Hooten
This will be Katie’s second year as a kindergarten aide. She recently moved her from California, due to her husbands job transfer to Utah. Katie is getting her degree in Early Childhood Development from BeAnza College in Cupertino, California. She has taught preschool over the past 13 years. Katie has two kids.
1st Grade: Jeanne M. Pence

Mrs. Pence has over 26 years experience in teaching and educational consulting projects. She has degrees in Early Childhood Development, B.S. in Elementary Education, Masters in Curriculum Development, Special Education Endorsement in Learning Disabilities, and was participating in the University of Chicago’s Erickson Institute on Brain Research, before returning to Salt Lake City. Mrs. Pence is a graduate of St. Mary’s of the Wasatch. She has received the following honors: The Disney American Award Nomination; Heart of The School Award, Innovation and Creativity Award, Rising Star Award, and Peace and Justice Award from the Office of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Chicago, and inclusion in the 07/08 Cambridge “Who’s Who Among Professional Women in Education” Registry. Mrs. Pence was recently recognized as an Outstanding Educator of the Diocese of Salt Lake City 2005. She is the proud mother of: George (Princeton 2002, University of Virginia law School 2005, Gregory (Dartmouth 2006, Published Cartoonist and currently working for the State of New Hampshire) and Mary Catherine (St. Mary’s Notre Dame 2006 and currently honing her fine arts in the Seattle area. Mrs. Pence has a passion for teaching and empowering her students.
1st Grade Aide: Jean Spicer
This will be Jean’s first year as an aide at St. Vincent’s school. She graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies. She loves working in the education field because she loves children. She was a Secretary in the Granite School District for 20 years. She has been married to Charlie for 43 years and has three daughters and three grand daughters, two of whom are at St. Vincent’s, Mariah in 2nd grade and Samantha in Kindergarten. Her greatest accomplishment in life is being a Grandma. Jean also enjoys sewing, reading and spending time with her family.
2nd Grade: Rhea Hristou

Rhea is from Montana and has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Montana State University and a Masters in Education from the University of Utah. Rhea has been teaching for 32 years, 15 of which have been at St. Vincent’s. She is married and has three children. Rhea loves technology and incorporates it into her classroom as much as possible. In addition, Rhea has always been able to find that one thing that is special in each child.
2nd Grade Aide: Suzy Carson
Suzy is our new Teacher’s aide for the second grade class. For the past two years she has filled the substitute position for teachers’ aides at St. Vincent’s and is excited to be here full time! In the past, Suzy has helped with the schools Innisbrook fundraiser and school auction. She has two boys attending St. Vincent’s, who are currently in the 2nd and 3rd grades.
3rd Grade: Kara Haney

Kara received her BA in Early Childhood education from Westminster College with a minor in Spanish. She has taught for the past four years in Salt Lake County Granite and Jordan districts, and at JE Cosgriff Catholic School. This is her third year at St. Vincent’s, but she has been a Parish member for the past 15 years, and is excited to be “home”. Kara has a one year old and is expecting her second this Fall.
3rd Grade Aide: Ellen Henkels
Ellen received her B.S. in Finance and minor in Accounting from Franciscan University in Stubenville, Ohio. Ellen is going on her 6th year as an aide at St. Vincent School. Ellen enjoys working with children. She is also a co-leader for a Jr. Girl Scout troop. She has two girls at St. Vincent School and one who will be starting Judge Catholic High School. Ellen was Home and School President in 2002/2003.
4th Grade: Cindy McDowell

Cindy has been teaching at St. Vincent’s for 16 years. She received her B.S. from University of Utah in speech pathology and audiology, and has a B.A. in Elementary Education from Westminster College. She was raised in Salt Lake City and has two children, Nathan 8th grade and Lauren 5th grade attending St. Vincent’s.
4th/5th Grade Aide: Teresa Daily
This will be Teresa’s 5th year as an aide at St Vincent’s. She is married and has 2 children who attend St. Vincent’s. She grew up in Ohio and then lived in Illinois where she worked in the real estate field. She moved to Salt Lake 5 years ago when her husband got transferred to Utah.

5th Grade: Terry Stack

Terry has been teaching 30 years, 18 of which have been at St. Vincent’s. She is the most senior member of our teacher staff. Terry received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Montana State University. She also received her social sciences degree from Pepperdine University. She coordinates the youth masses at St. Thomas More Parish. She is the proud mother of Ryan and Tyler. She is also the doting grandmother of Aiden (4).
6th Grade: Alice Borg

This will be Alice’s 2nd year as St. Vincent’s 6th grade teacher. She is a graduate of St. Vincent’s and Judge Memorial. Alice received her B.A. in Business Management and a Masters in Elementary Education from University of Phoenix. She has two wonderful sons, Taylor who attends St. Vincent’s and is in 6th grade and Tanner who will begin Pre K this year. Alice enjoys teaching, spending time with her family, horses, photography and camping.
7th Grade Teacher: Tim Erickson

Tim is pleased to join the community at St. Vincent’s. He received a B.A. in English from the University of Utah in 1999 and a MFA in writing from Sarah Lawrence College in Bornxville, New York. Tim enjoys reading and writing, the outdoors, hiking and bicycling in summers and snowboarding in winters. He has published poetry in several magazines inkling Western Humanities Review, Quarterly West and Lumina and others.
8th Grade Teacher: Deborah Ferree

Deborah joined the St. Vincent faculty in January 2005. She graduated summa cum laude from Utah State University with a B.S. degree in elementary education and has served on the Utah Catholic School Board. She enjoys the energy and idealism of her middle school students. Deborah, and her husband Graham, have two children who attend St. Vincent de Paul School and one who is a sophomore at Judge Memorial Catholic High School.
6th/7th Grade Upper Math: Sarah Niemann

Sarah graduated from De Paul University in Chicago with a B.S. in Accounting and Personal Management. Most of her career has been in corporate accounting. She has a son, who attends the University of Utah, a daughter who is a senior at Judge Memorial Catholic High School and an 8 year old who will be in the 3rd grade at St. Vincent’s. She enjoys dancing, teaching math and art, doing all kinds of puzzles and spending time with her family.
8th Grade Advanced Math: Dr. Tom Barman

This is Tom’s 8th year teaching advanced math to our 8th graders. He received his B.S. in Biology and Medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. Tom is a physician in Salt Lake and volunteers his time to teach 8th grade math in the mornings at St. Vincent’s. He loves teaching and challenging the students to love math.
Middle School Aide: Tina Longe
Tina has helped in the school and church office for several years. This year she will be an assistant to our middle school teachers and help them with various tasks throughout the year.
Computer Teacher: Andrew Ferree
aferree@stvincents-school.org Andrew joins us this year as our new computer teacher. He graduated with a degree in Business Management from Western Illinois University. He recently worked for the Latin School, a K-12 private school, in the Chicago area. One of his projects there was working with students to build their own computers. Andrew enjoys computers in general, playing computer games, and outdoor activities. He also loves volunteering, most recently to help Hurricane Katrina victims.
Music Teacher: Radu Noaghiu

Radu is from Romania and has a degree in music and specialty training in conducting choir, orchestra and piano. He graduated from the Transylvania Music University and got his masters degree from the University of Utah in conducting orchestra. He moved to Salt Lake City in 1999. This is his 9th year teaching at our school. He teaches music to all grades at St. Vincent’s, St. Olaf's and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Schools in Salt Lake.
Spanish Teacher: Ana Facelli

Ana was born in Buenos Ares, Argentina and received her masters in hearing and speech therapy from Universidad del Museo Social Argentino. She has been living in the United States for 24 years. She has been teaching Spanish for 20 years, the last 8 have been here at St. Vincent’s. Ana teaches Spanish to all grades levels at our school and chaperones our Middle Students to Mexico in the Spring during our Mexican Exchange Program.
Librarian: Giselle Airriess

Since 1999, Giselle has been our librarian. She is originally from Saskatchewan, Canada, earning her degree in Theatre from the University of Saskatchewan. She loves bringing the written word to life, discovering what is waiting in a book, and helping the students and staff with “the right book at the right time!” She is also the coordinator of the reading tutor program.
PE Teacher: Patty Bradley

First as a student of St. Joseph’s High School, then as a teacher at Judge Memorial and the Madeleine Choir School, then as a volunteer at Blessed Sacrament and in the Advancement Office at Juan Diego Catholic High School. She is married and has 3 children. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, golfing and good company. This is Patty’s 2nd year teaching at St. Vincent’s.
Special Education Teacher: Kay Hamilton

This is Kay’s 5th year at St. Vincent’s. We are fortunate to have her working with our individual students who have mild learning disabilities. She has her B.A in Anthropology from University of Utah and a Special Education Certificate from Utah State in mild and moderate learning disabilities. Kay also has an ESL Endorsement in English as a 2nd language. She has worked as a resource teacher for 7 years prior to coming to St. Vincent’s. Kay has 4 children, all of whom graduated from St. Vincent’s.

Band/Choir/Music Teacher: Scott Larrabee

Scott is a native of Utah and attended St. Olaf’s and Judge Memorial. He has a degree from DePaul University in Chicago in music education. He taught K-8 general music for ten years in the Chicago and Dubuque archdioceses before moving back to Utah direct the music at Juan Diego, a position he held from 2002-2006. Scott has extensive choral directing experience directing the professional Assumption Festival Choir in downtown Chicago and the Collegiate Singers at the University of Dubuque. He also has been a church musician for twenty years. Scott’s family includes his wife, Angelique who cantors at St. Vincent’s, two sons, Peter age 6 and Joel age 5, and a 2 year old daughter Lucinda. He and his wife have a passion for old homes, cooking unusual cuisine, playing Renaissance music, camping, and hiking.
Counselor: Corinne Johnson
Corinne, LCSW, is the Director of Counseling Services at Holy Cross Ministries. Corinne is a licensed clinical social worker with a school counseling certification. She holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work practice from the University of Utah. Corrine provides clinical services to students at St. Vincent’s on a weekly basis. This is her 6th year at St. Vincents
School Accountant: Jody Gibson
jgibson@stvincents-school.org Jody has been the accountant for St. Vincent’s parish and school for the last 11 years. Jody has an associate degree in accounting. She is married is has two daughters ages 21 and 16. She loves to golf, photography, going camping and being a mom. Jody handles all the tuition payments, payroll and does all the financial statements for the school. Jody is in the office on Wednesday’s and Friday’s.
